For Stage 2 of our Reserve Ave project, we transformed the walk-in robe and ensuite into a moodier and more personality-filled retreat. In contrast to the timeless, pared-back palette of the previously renovated bathroom and powder room, these spaces take cues from the green tones of the adjoining lounge. Polytec Topiary joinery brings depth and warmth to both spaces, paired with striking Lavistone Viola Monet natural stone to create a beautiful focal point.
To maintain consistency throughout the home, the main tiles and tapware were carried through from the earlier renovation, while a white finger mosaic tile adds texture and interest within the shower. The layouts were also completely reimagined to make two previously cramped spaces feel more open. Closing the doorway from the bedroom to the ensuite allowed us to create a larger arched opening between the walk-in robe and ensuite, improving the sense of flow while still comfortably accommodating a vanity, large shower and toilet.
With additional built-in robes recently added to the master bedroom, the walk-in robe could be designed around more than just clothing storage. A dedicated make-up bench became a key feature, complemented by drawers and hanging space for overflow and larger items. The result is a more spacious and considered master suite that feels connected to the rest of the home, while having a distinctly richer and more expressive personality of its own.
