CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

"Thank you YDM Design Studio for producing our fabulous bathroom/laundry. Nina listened to our brief and developed a wonderful colour palate for us. Timelines and process were clear for first time renovators like ourselves. Would happily recommend Nina and her team."

- Harriet, St Kilda East Client

The brief for this project was to take a dated side-by-side bathroom and ensuite, and turn that space into a practical family bathroom and powder room instead. It was important that the new design made the best use of the space, giving the client a vanity (instead of just a wall mounted basin), a larger shower and also included a euro laundry like the original bathroom.

While the bathroom needed a modern refresh, it was also important that the new design still suited the original details that we were keeping - such as the pressed tin ceiling, the paneled door and double hung window. The client's love of terrazzo formed the base for the design and a striking terrazzo look tile was selected to go into both spaces. The colours and finishes were also inspired by the client's new kitchen, which had been designed prior to YDM Design Studio being brought into the project. To create cohesion between the Kitchen and the Bathroom/Powder, Polytec Tasmanian Oak was chosen for the vanities and the same benchtop was carried throughout. The feature subway tile was also laid in a vertical stacked pattern as a nod to the feature VJ paneling in the kitchen/dining space.
